yellow_up.jpg Section 8: Insert Menu continued

Inserting Images has Never Been Easier.
In the Insert Menu, go to Media and select Image.

The Insert Image dialog box will appear. Click on Select File and that will bring up the Open dialog box. Find the image on your hard drive and click Open.

When you click Open, CreaText fills out the form with the Name of the Image, its dimensions, in Width and Height and fills in the Alternative Text field. As you can see, there are other fields, such as Border and Image Map. You have the option of also filling out those fields.

Click Insert and the HTML for the Image link is inserted into your HTML document.

Tip: If you want to align your image to the Left, Right, or Center, enter the align tags first like this: <CENTER></CENTER> then place your cursor in the middle of the align tags and the image link will be inserted correctly for your alignment. )
Once your Image Source information is entered into your HTML document, Click a Browser Preview button.

And see Preview theImage in your Browser.

When you select the image from your hard drive with the Insert Image feature, the dimensions are automatically entered and that helps your web page load faster, since the browser doesn't have to figure the correct size for the image.
The next two items in the Insert Media menu, Multimedia and Image Map work the same way as Insert Image. There are some different fields to fill in, but the process is basically the same. Simply follow the steps given above and adjust for the differences in the media.
Insert Menu - Text Styles

Use the items in this menu for Text Styling. If you're like me, you'll probably use the Keystrokes for the first three of these styles; Bold, Italic and Underline. In case you don't know, here's the way to do it:

And that will give you: CreaText.

After highlighting your text, selecting Strikeout will give you this:
<STRIKE>CreaText</STRIKE> and produce this: CreaText

Superscript causes a word, or words, to be on a higher baseline, as shown in this sentence.

Subscript is the opposite and causes words to be on a lower baseline, as shown here.

Of the last few items in the Insert Menu, under Extras, Scrollbar Appearance only works in Internet Explorer 5.0 + in Windows. ( The Shortcut Icon will also work in Safari and Camino. )

Mimic Tag makes a mimic tag, of course. And Insert CreaText logo inserts a CreaText logo, what else?

Click the forward arrow for one more quick page...and we're outta' here!
