"Sea Dream"
An original watercolor painting of "Sea Dream," one of two boats that rescued the surviving
English sailors who were aboard the British oil tanker, Empire Mica, when it was sunk by a
German U-boat In the Gulf of Mexico, near Apalachicola, FL, during World War II.
The heroic and historic old boat sat on a corner in downtown Apalachicola, as a memorial, since
World War II. Sadly, it was blown apart by a hurricane in the mid 1990s and no longer exists.
Another piece of Americana, that is lost forever, is preserved in this painting.
